Your Money is Safe and Sound at IHMVCU
Nov 24, 2020 || Allan Hosack, CFO
As we all continue to make adjustments to our personal and work lives to help slow the spread of COVID-19, we know there are a lot of questions and feelings of uncertainty. We want to provide some clarity specific to your money and accounts at IHMVCU.
Please know, we’re here for you!
IHMVCU is safe and financially strong. We’re a well-capitalized institution with strong earnings and extra cash on hand. We still don't know the long-term financial impact of COVID-19, but we're prepared for the unexpected and are in a position of financial strength; ready to handle the road ahead. On a more personal note, of course, your deposits are insured up to a minimum of $250,000 by the National Credit Union Association, a U.S. government agency.
Last Spring, we took the unprecedented step of limiting service at our branches, and assigning as many team members as possible to work remotely from their homes. As with most businesses and financial institutions, we did this for the health and safety of our team members and you, our members, and the community. We resumed normal branch operations over the summer but effective Nov. 27, we'll return to branch lobby service by appointment only.
Even with our limited service, we’re still here for you. During this time, we have several options for you to conduct your usual credit union business including:
- Normal drive up hours at all IHMVCU locations
- Live teller support at our branches with virtual teller machines (ITMs)
- 24/7 online and mobile access. Not signed up for these services yet? It’s quick and easy to enroll.
- In-person support by appointment only. Schedule your appointment online or by texting APPT to 309-793-6200.
- Regarding support; we've added extra team members to meet the increased demand whether you contact us by secure online chat,
secure messaging in Online Branch or by phone.
We know many of you are feeling the impact of this pandemic in your wallets in a very real way too. We understand and again, we’re here for you. For those who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, we have programs to help. Please fill out this form or call 309-793-6200 or 800-722-0333, press 3.
We will get through this together.
